Net High Stakes Poker- Who is Gus Hansen?
Gus Hansen enjoyed a wonderful year on the World Poker Tour where he was the only one to make it to the last table in 3 of the events. Gus Hansen has been seen on High Stakes Poker on The Game Show Network where he bought into the game for $400, 000. You might remember one of the biggest pots in big stakes poker recorded history competing against Daniel Negreanu. He secured a big pot with quads against Negreanu’s full house. Gus has earned many televised poker appearances and is thought to be one of the best bettors around the world. While participating in online poker, another side of Hansen has appeared. He regularly competes in the 200/400 No Limit maximum buy in of $40, 000. Hansen generally buys in for the minimum of $16, 000 and plays very weak. He sits there waiting for a good hand and then pushes all-in. I believe Hansen is an excellent poker player but certainly not even close to the familiar players at 200/400NL. Unless he is bankrupt, he has little or no reason to sit at the table with the min buy in.
Playing for the minimum takes almost all of the ability out of big stack poker. Hansen is accepted to be 1 of the best poker players in the world but he cannot buy-in for the total amt.. I believe tv can skew our view of the real world every now and then. The greatest poker players in the world might be guys you have will not have heard of. Gus can be found competing in internet poker on Full Tilt. He normally participates in high stakes omaha hold’em and hold’em. Gus has shown himself as a competition player. Can he use his skills in money rounds?
