Net Big Stakes Poker- Gus Hansen
Gus Hansen had a marvelous year on the WPT where he was the only participant to achieve last table in three of the tournaments. Gus Hansen has been seen on High Stakes Poker on GSN where he paid $400, 000 to play. You might remember one of the biggest pots in big stakes poker recorded history competing against Daniel Negreanu. Hansen raked in a massive pot with 4 of a kind against Negreanu’s full house. Gus has earned many televised poker appearances and is deemed to be one of the strongest gamblers anywhere in the world. While participating in online poker, another side of Hansen has appeared. Gus often participates in the 200/400 No Limit maximum buy in of Forty Thousand dollars. Hansen more often than not buys in for the min of Sixteen Thousand dollars and plays very poorly. He waits patiently for a good hand and then pushes all in. I accept that Hansen is an amazing poker player but certainly not even close to the familiar players at 200/400no limit. Unless he is broke, he has no reason to sit at the game with the minimum buy-in.
Buying in for the minimum takes most of the ability out of big stack poker. Gus is assumed to be 1 of the greatest poker players anywhere in the world but he can’t buy-in for the total amount. I think television can alter our view of the real world every now and then. The greatest players anywhere in the world might be guys you have won’t have heard about. Gus can be found playing web poker on Full Tilt. He commonly competes in high stakes omaha hi-low and Holdem. Gus Hansen has proven himself as a competition player. Can he use his skills in money rounds?
