Net Big Stakes Poker- Who is Gus Hansen?
Gus Hansen experienced a wonderful year on the World Poker Tour where he was the only gambler to achieve final game in three of the tournaments. Gus Hansen has appeared on High Stakes Poker on GSN where he bought into the game for $400, 000. You might remember one of the largest pots in big stakes poker history against Daniel Negreanu. Hansen won a big pot with quads against Negreanu’s full house. Gus has made many tv poker appearances and is considered to be one of the strongest bettors in the world. While gambling on internet poker, a different side of Hansen has appeared. He frequently competes in the 200/400 No Limit max buy-in of $40, 000. Hansen usually buys in for the min of $16, 000 and plays very weak. He waits patiently for a decent hand and then pushes all-in. I accept that Gus is an amazing poker player but certainly not even close to the everyday players at 200/400no limit. Unless Gus is broke, he has absolutely no reason to settle at the table with the min buy-in.
Buying in for the min takes most of the ability out of big stack poker. Hansen is supposed to be one of the greatest players in the world but he can’t buy in for the full amt.. I believe tv can skew our view of the real world sometimes. The best players anywhere in the world could be guys you have never heard about. Gus can be seen participating in online poker on Full Tilt. He usually participates in big stakes Omaha and texas holdem. Gus Hansen has proven himself as a competition player. Can he use his abilities in money rounds?
