No-Limit Holdem Poker- Who is Phil Ivey?

Phil Ivey has been branded as the best poker player on the globe by many of the top-ranked professionals. He was born in Riverside, CA and relocated to NJ before reaching the age of one. His grandpa taught him one cent-ante 5-Card Stud poker. From then on on, Phil was addicted to poker and wanted to learn every little thing he could about poker. He routinely told his elders that he wanted to be a professional poker player. Phil did not permit the negative comments from other people kill his ambition of becoming one of the best poker competitors in the world.

Phil began playing seriously after acquiring a false ID by the name of Jerome. He honed his abilities at the casinos of Atlantic City. The initial few years for him were a teaching experience and winning was not a common outcome at the time. He made his mark at the 2000 World Series of Poker where he achieved 2 final tables and came away with his 1st WSOP bracelet, in a $2, five hundred Pot-Limit Omaha game. At the closing table he defeated quite a few of the well known professionals which includes "Amarillo Slim" Preston, David "Devilfish" Ulliot, and Phil Hellmuth, Jr.

He decided to take his game to the next level and moved out west to Sin City. He continues to compete in in "The Big Game" at the Bellagio with the greatest players on the planet. Phil credits his success to discipline and a continuing love for the game of poker. He states that he is picking up skills every single day and is very humble about his accomplishments. He knows he makes blunders every single session of poker and always strives to improve.

Even though Phil has come first in some large tournaments, he favors winning money games on a normal basis.
